Job Description

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan aligned with HHS’ mission, priorities, and growth goals.
Strengthen brand identity with consistent messaging, visual standards, and storytelling across platforms.
Maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, journalists, and community media partners.
Regularly track media news and updates related to health and human services locally, regionally, and nationally.
Manage and regularly update the department’s website content for accuracy, accessibility, and timely public health information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, public administration, journalism, or a related field.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of above requirement.
Three (3) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience developing and executing communications strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with digital platforms, social media, and content management systems.
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred

Master’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, public administration, journalism, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience working in public health, healthcare, government, or a municipal setting.
Two (2) years of experience with graphic design, multimedia content creation, and branding.
Experience engaging diverse communities using a health equity and cultural competency framework.
Experience using analytics tools to measure and improve communications performance.
