Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan aligned with HHS’ mission, priorities, and growth goals.
  • Strengthen brand identity with consistent messaging, visual standards, and storytelling across platforms.
  • Maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, journalists, and community media partners.
  • Regularly track media news and updates related to health and human services locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Manage and regularly update the department’s website content for accuracy, accessibility, and timely public health information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, public administration, journalism, or a related field.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of above requirement.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with digital platforms, social media, and content management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, public administration, journalism, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in public health, healthcare, government, or a municipal setting.
  • Two (2) years of experience with graphic design, multimedia content creation, and branding.
  • Experience engaging diverse communities using a health equity and cultural competency framework.
  • Experience using analytics tools to measure and improve communications performance.
