Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Web Team Lead to oversee the successful delivery of client website projects from kickoff through launch. This role is responsible for leading our internal web development team, coordinating external development partners, and ensuring every website is delivered on time, on budget, and at a high standard of quality.

The ideal candidate is both a strong people leader and a highly capable WordPress/Elementor Pro practitioner. While this role is primarily focused on project leadership, resource management, technical oversight, and delivery accountability, the Web Team Lead must also be comfortable jumping into development work when needed to support the team and solve problems.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, enjoys balancing technical execution with operational management, and cares deeply about building excellent digital experiences for clients.

Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Website Delivery Management

  • Lead and manage a small (but growing) team internal web developers
  • Coordinate and oversee outsourced development partners and freelancers
  • Participate in project scoping, technical planning, and estimation during pre-sale and kickoff phases
  • Assign workload, prioritize projects, and manage development capacity across the team
  • Create actionable development plans that ensure website projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, or resource issues early and proactively solve them
  • Collaborate closely with Partner Success Managers, project managers, designers, copywriters, and QA specialists
  • Establish and improve development workflows, QA standards, and delivery processes
  • Ensure websites meet client expectations, technical requirements, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices
  • Oversee website launches and post-launch support activities
  • Hold developers accountable for deadlines, quality standards, and communication expectations
  • Mentor and coach developers to improve technical skills and efficiency

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the senior technical resource for WordPress and Elementor Pro projects
  • Build or modify pages/templates within Elementor Pro as needed
  • Troubleshoot development issues and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Review development work for quality, responsiveness, performance, scalability, and consistency
  • Maintain best practices for:
  • WordPress architecture
  • Elementor implementation
  • Responsive development
  • Page speed optimization
  • Technical SEO
  • Plugin management
  • Security and maintenance
  • Ensure proper use of staging environments, backups, version control, and deployment processes

Vendor & Outsource Management

  • Manage relationships with external development contractors and partners
  • Review outsourced work for quality and adherence to agency standards
  • Work with Operations to determine when to outsource vs. complete work internally
  • Ensure vendors meet deadlines, communication expectations, and technical requirements

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or similar area
  • 5+ years of professional web development experience in an agency or fast-paced production environment
  • 2+ years leading or managing development teams
  • Advanced experience with:
  • WordPress
  • Elementor Pro
  • HTML/CSS
  • Responsive web development
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Technical SEO
  • Website performance optimization
  • Accessibility best practices
  • UX/UI implementation
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous website projects
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with outsourced development teams
  • Proven ability to balance quality, timelines, and budgets in a client-services environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-location websites
  • Familiarity with WordPress hosting environments and deployment workflows
  • Experience with:
  • WP Engine
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • Custom post types
  • Website migrations
  • API integrations
  • Familiarity with project management systems such as Wrike
  • PHP and JavaScript knowledge
  • Experience implementing analytics, tracking, and conversion optimization tools
  • English speaker with spanish fluency would be a plus
