Job Description

Responsibilities

  • To support ASEC's mission, the Web Content Manager (WCM) will oversee the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives that advance the organization's mission, objectives and priority areas.
  • WCM is responsible for guiding the strategy for all internal and external printed and digital communications materials, including e-newsletters, brochures, appeals, website and public relations messages and collateral.
  • The WCM will build momentum and awareness around the organization by developing content strategies that engage diverse audiences and lead to measurable action.
  • The MCM partners with all departments to improve strategic thinking and leverage the organization's resources to the best effect.
  • WCM regularly engages with media to enhance the organization's storytelling capabilities and share widely the work of the organization and "get our story out".

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing/communication field with a fair knowledge of nonprofit organizations and fundraising expertise.
  • Media and communication experience, as well as the ability to develop, implement, track and report on communication strategies and outcomes including social media; maintaining/updating organizational website.
  • Experience managing and updating content on WordPress websites, including working within customized themes, managing plugins and WordPress updates and coordinating with outside web developers as needed.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial, able to work independently.
  • Passionate about creating and designing content and strategically distributing compelling narratives through multiple digital media channels; comfortable leveraging digital communication tools; Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in graphic design and producing and editing of videos.
