Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide communications and marketing strategy that strengthens BGCSF’s visibility, credibility, and connection to the communities it serves.
  • Maintain and evolve a clear organizational narrative that communicates BGCSF’s mission, youth development strategy, programs, and impact.
  • Oversee major organization-wide storytelling initiatives, including the annual Impact Report and other strategic publications.
  • Provide strategic oversight of BGCSF’s integrated communications ecosystem—including digital marketing, membership and family communications, and government and community relations—ensuring brand alignment across audiences and platforms.
  • Oversee youth recruitment across Clubhouses, School-Based Clubs, and Camp Mendocino through coordinated outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Guide membership marketing efforts in partnership with the Membership & Outreach Specialist and Director of Digital Marketing to strengthen awareness, participation, and long-term engagement.
  • Partner with internal teams and external partners to ensure Clubhouse environments and related spaces reflect BGCSF’s brand standards—creating welcoming, youth-centered spaces that reinforce the organization’s mission, identity, and commitment to safety and belonging.
  • Partner with the Development team and the Director of Digital Marketing to strengthen donor and sponsor engagement through strategic storytelling and mission-driven communications and campaigns.
  • Provide communications and marketing leadership for major fundraising events, including the annual Gala, Youth of the Year, Golf Tournament, and other donor engagement opportunities.
  • Lead event narrative development and oversee all production aspects of events, including run-of-show, stage program development, stage management, and program flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations
  • Minimum 5 years of management and supervisory experience, leading communications or marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated communications strategies for complex organizations serving multiple audiences.
  • Experience managing media relations and public communications.
  • Experience advising senior leaders on messaging, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Highly competent project manager who takes initiative, responsibility, and ownership.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills; assertive, and confident with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent listener and team player, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
