Job Summary

Own the classroom and coaching program with district-aligned instruction, collaboration with special education, and safe athletic and transport operations for student-athletes.

  • Instruction & Student Outcomes: plan and assess using district curricula and student learning styles to drive results.
  • Coaching & Athletics: manage practices, competitions, safety, and UIL compliance for sport teams.
  • Operations & Compliance: work with staff on goals, supervise aides/volunteers, and ensure bus transport safety and rules adherence.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Fulfill all coaching responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
  • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in IEPs.
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
  • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
  • Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
  • Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger, air brake and safety endorsements
  • Ability to pass annual and random DOT physical/drug testing
  • Ability to physically perform CPR and First Aid techniques
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to maneuver effectively in a school bus

Preferred

  • Quality experience as a coach or participant in sports assigned
