Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the maintenance of a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with goals and audience needs.
  • Lead/support the development of a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of high-quality content across various platforms.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines and best practices for content creation to ensure consistency and quality communication products.
  • Research and write press releases, articles, cutlines, website content, and infographics in a timely manner to communicate the value to the innovation ecosystem.
  • Distill complex information about advanced technologies into engaging narratives while maintaining security and accuracy.
  • Design and develop creative communication and marketing products to include presentations, briefings, basic graphics, etc., that convey the value and impact for internal, public, and industry audiences.
  • Copyedit a variety of written material for publication to include technical documentation, for clarity, consistency, completeness, readability and compliance with current Department of the Air Force style guidelines and standards, and OPSEC requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of the brand, message and communication of all products.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, military personnel, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy of written materials.
  • Understand target audiences and tailor products to resonate with audiences to demonstrate the value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in the communications field, preferably within a military or government context.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for diverse audiences to include long-form and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think critically and make decisions, pays attention to detail, and has a self-starter mentality.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools to include Google Workspace.
  • Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities and have strong time management skills working under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a highly dispersed remote organization.
  • Travel is required and expected based on required support.
  • Clearance Requirements: MUST hold an active Secret clearance.
