Job Summary

Own the storytelling engine for client programs by turning briefs into multimedia campaigns across newsletters, social video, editorial, podcasts, and events.

  • Lead cross-functional pitches and creative storytelling that win and scale formats with client KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Editorial, Insights, and Events to turn data into compelling proposals and strategic options.
  • Interface with multimedia franchises and producers to uncover narratives aligned with client interests and brand pillars.

Responsibilities

  • Developing innovative, insight-driven solutions to client challenges and creating impactful proposals that align with the MBI ecosystem, while meeting client goals and KPIs through compelling storytelling across newsletters, social video, editorial, podcasts, events, and more.
  • Collaborating with internal teams (Sales, Account Management, Events, Editorial, Insights & Analytics, etc.) to develop pitches that maximize our chances of winning.
  • Participating in client meetings as the creative voice, presenting ideas with clarity and confidence, guiding creative conversations, and building trust with senior-level marketers.
  • Serving as the liaison for one or more multimedia franchises, working closely with producers and creators to uncover storytelling opportunities that align with client interests.
  • Leading dynamic, well-structured brainstorms and cross-functional meetings that bring out the best ideas from across teams and disciplines.
  • Partnering with Account Management to analyze campaign performance and translate insights into strategic solutions that expand partners into new formats, drive retention, deepen relationships, and fuel year-over-year growth.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
  • 3-4 years of pre-sale experience at a digital publisher or agency (i.e. building decks, stories, and narratives for RFP responses and proactive ideas/pitches)
  • Strong foundation in brand strategy and creative thinking, with the ability to translate client objectives into compelling narratives that align with MBI’s brand pillars and audience. Adept at leveraging market research, campaign performance data, and audience insights to inform and refine creative strategy, ensuring ideas are both resonant and results-driven.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration and organizational skills, paired with an impeccable eye for detail and identifying creative opportunities.
  • Ability to present ideas with confidence to senior-level clients, articulating the strategy behind your work, and skillfully synthesizing feedback to refine and tailor media strategies.
  • Journalist-worthy writing and editing skills. A wordnik in a meme world.
  • Deadline-oriented project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight timelines.
