Job Summary

Lead and produce vertical-first social content for Icon’s clients, directing shoots and editing fast-turnaround videos across platforms.

  • Own end-to-end social content from concept to post across client accounts.
  • Must-have: 2–4+ years creating vertical social video with strong portfolio.
  • Standout: Direct on-field shoots with talent and in fast-paced environments.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Ideate short-form content concepts for Icon's clients across all social platforms and develop repeatable formats designed to perform at scale
  • Stay obsessively current on platform trends, algorithm shifts, viral mechanics, and hook structures, and translate those insights into actionable content ideas
  • Contribute to client content strategy by aligning creative concepts with strategic goals and Icon's branded social philosophy
  • Serve as the primary shooter and director for social-first content in the field, capturing athletes, talent, and brand moments in fast-paced, high-pressure, unscripted environments using mobile devices and mirrorless cameras
  • Direct high-level talent with confidence and composure, maximizing every shoot by capturing not just what's planned but the moments others would miss
  • Travel as needed for shoots, events, tournaments, and activations. This role goes where the content is
  • Edit short-form content at a high level in Adobe Premiere Pro with refined pacing, strong hook structures, intentional sound design, and platform-native formatting
  • Deliver polished, on-brand content quickly and consistently, understanding that turnaround times in social are measured in hours and the best content has a short shelf life
  • Support long-form content production as needed, contributing footage, b-roll, and social cutdowns from larger shoots
  • Manage content across all client social media platforms: uploading posts, writing captions, crafting on-screen text, and ensuring every piece of content aligns with the page aesthetic and brand voice

Requirements

  • 2 to 4+ years creating vertical-first, social-native video content (agency, creator, brand, or media company experience preferred. A strong personal portfolio or brand you've built counts)
  • Demonstrated experience shooting and directing content in fast-paced, unscripted environments with talent, athletes, or high-profile individuals
  • Proven ability to produce short-form content that performs at scale. You can point to the work and the numbers behind it
  • Proficiency with mobile cinematography and mirrorless cameras
  • Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro with refined pacing, strong hooks, and creative storytelling
  • Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X, including what's trending, why it's trending, and how to make it work for a brand
  • Strong copywriting instincts for captions, on-screen text, and hooks that drive engagement
  • Working knowledge of social media analytics and the ability to translate data into creative decisions

Preferred

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for basic graphic design, retouching, photo editing, or carousels
  • Experience with lighting, audio capture, and field production logistics
  • A great eye for still photography and capturing "post-worthy" moments during shoots
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Frame.io, Slack, Google Workspace, or Notion
  • Background in sports, athlete, or entertainment content

Benefits

  • Optional health, dental, and vision insurance available
