Job Summary

Own Galveston’s social presence and content engine, turning events, partnerships, and real time storytelling into measurable audience engagement.

  • Social & content ownership: manage multi channel publishing, engagement, and reporting to drive growth and relevance.
  • Content production and partnerships: capture and edit photography/video, maintain calendars, and build influencer/tourism partner relationships.
  • Events to impact: attend festivals and tourism activities to generate timely content and real time coverage that supports campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage Visit Galveston's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Capture and edit photography and video content for social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Attend events, festivals, and tourism-related activities to create and share real-time content.
  • Engage with online audiences by responding to comments and messages and fostering positive interactions.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Build relationships with tourism partners, influencers, content creators, and industry stakeholders.
  • Assist with website content, blogs, email marketing, and other digital marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor social media performance and prepare reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or minimum two years of digital content and social media experience at an agency and/or an in-house marketing team
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Content Management Systems
  • Experienced in photography, videography and editing tools
  • Is dynamic, quick-thinking, self-motivated, and dependable
  • Enjoys collaboration and teamwork
  • Possess excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Displays initiative, creativity, and marketing knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with differing deadlines; requires excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strategic problem solving and ability to proactively identify challenges and find creative solutions
  • Ability to plan and work independently and in coordination with internal and external resources
