Social Media Intern

Responsibilities

• Help manage social media channels for Sabretooth and team dog
• Assist the Sabres social director and coordinators on game days with overall social media production, as well as practices and event coverage as needed
• Assist in day-to-day management of Buffalo Sabres social media inboxes
• Create and share content on all Buffalo Bandits social media channels during every home game and select away games
• Upload and optimize videos on YouTube
• Ideate and execute concepts for Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits TikTok channels
• Assist in Buffalo Sabres social media influencer execution
• Be an active member of the social media team – pitch ideas, remain current with social media industry trends, generate creative and compelling content
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
• Pursuing or completed a degree in Communications, Sports Management, Public Relations, or similar field
• Available to work evening, weekend, holiday hours as needed
• General understanding of social media platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube
• Strong attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading skills
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• General knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere
• Passionate about customer service
• Must be dependable, willing to take initiative, and adapt to a variety of situations including a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Strong knowledge of social media strategy and content planning
• Experience with influencer outreach or campaigns (preferred)
• Experience working in sports or entertainment setting (preferred)
