Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube.)
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging daily content tailored to each platform.
- Monitor analytics to track KPIs for performance, engagement, and growth.
- Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster a sense of community.
- Coordinate social campaigns around key sports events, streaming content, and breaking news.
- Stay up to date on trends in sports and digital media to keep our content fresh and relevant.
- Assist in scheduling and managing live sports streams via our platform and app, working closely with broadcast and production teams to ensure quality content.
- Oversee the presentation and upkeep of social media accounts.
- Interact with followers, respond to queries and monitor reader reviews, feedback and mentions.
- Assist in website management to ensure a local and up-to-date content experience for readers.
Responsibilities (continued)
- Troubleshoot basic live stream technical issues when needed.
- Clip highlights from live events for social and digital distribution.
- Collaborate with the broadcast team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms.
- Work closely with reporters, videographers, and editors to translate stories into digital-friendly formats.
- Produce short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) to promote stories, games, or athletes.
- Shoot, edit, and optimize videos for multiple platforms.
- Capture behind-the-scenes moments and in-game content for social audiences.
- Help conceptualize recurring content features or series that showcase Midwest sports culture.
- Assist in identifying digital goals and growth potential, while utilizing analytics tools to track progress of achieving those goals.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in social media, digital content production, or digital marketing.
- Passion for sports and strong familiarity with Midwest teams, athletes, and fan culture.
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere, Canva, Photoshop, or CapCut.
- Experience with live streaming tools and platforms is a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing and visual storytelling skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during sports seasons.
- Current residence in and the ability to work in the greater Sioux Falls, SD metro area. Some travel may be required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
- Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
