Job Description

Responsibilities

  • 1) Work with Teacher Education staff to research, design, develop, and implement social media plan
  • 2) Develop content for Instagram and Facebook (@HistoryEdMNHS)
  • 3) Research online tools, social media strategies, and make recommendations for future initiatives
  • 4) Attend social media meetings with supervisor and strategic communications as appropriate
  • 5) Develop and design monthly teacher email newsletters
  • 6) Increasing Instagram and Facebook engagement
  • 7) Conducting research to make recommendations for growing engagement with the teacher audience
  • 8) Suggest, develop, and oversee other projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months at the time of application.
  • Ideal candidates might be currently pursuing, or a graduate with a degree in the following areas: Education, History, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Undergraduate junior or senior able to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Experience planning, developing, and implementing projects, conducting research, video creation and building good working relationships with a diverse pool of people is required.
  • Student must be self-motivated, comfortable using social-media technologies, possess excellent written communication skills, and be able to think creatively.
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and/or other social media outlets required.
  • Experience with education and/or history is preferred.
  • Experience with engaging students in a variety of contexts is a plus.
