Social Media and Content Specialist

Responsibilities

• Create engaging, honest, and visually appealing videos and photographs to inform the public and promote City events.
• Coordinate the social media content calendar and plan campaigns around City priorities, events, and services.
• Create and distribute content for websites, print, social media, and other digital platforms, including vertical video, photos, reels, stories, and graphics optimized for each platform.
• Monitor social trends, formats, audio, and platform changes; identify trends that fit South Jordan and adapt them to the City's style, brand, and tone.
• Coordinate, monitor, and respond to community engagement while ensuring web and social content is accessible through captions, alt text, readable graphics, and ADA-aware design.
• Develop and edit written content for digital communications and strategic campaigns and collaborate with City stakeholders to develop promotional materials and support communications projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, or a closely related field.
• One (1) year of experience in managing social media for a brand, organization, business, or public agency, marketing, communications, public relations, or related duties.
• Or An equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Utah Class D Driver License.
