Job Summary

Own social storytelling for a nonprofit by turning events and on-site moments into short-form video and daily posts, while building engagement and reporting progress to a Communications Manager.

  • Content Production: On-site photo/video capture and quick-turn Reels/Stories that align with brand voice.
  • Social Management: Daily posting across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn with strategic tagging to expand reach.
  • Engagement & Analytics: Active community management and monthly performance reviews with optimization ideas.

Job Description

  • Execute the established content calendar and social media framework developed by the Communications Manager.
  • Attend meal services, warehouse operations, and events to capture real-time photo and video content.
  • Create short-form video (Reels/Stories) and compelling visual storytelling aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Conduct brief interviews with staff, volunteers, and partners to highlight impact and culture.
  • Own day-to-day posting across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Tag partners, sponsors, and community organizations to expand reach and visibility.
  • Actively manage engagement (comments, messages) in alignment with brand voice.
  • Track performance metrics and provide monthly reporting with recommendations for optimization.
  • First 30 Days: Align with Communications Manager on voice and campaigns; review content calendar; begin on-site content capture.
  • First 60 Days: Independently execute weekly content cadence; increase engagement and tagging discipline; deliver first performance summary.
  • First 90 Days: Demonstrate consistent brand-aligned storytelling; show measurable growth in engagement and reach; operate in lock step with Communications Manager on campaigns and priority initiatives.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2–5 years managing social media for a nonprofit, brand, or mission-driven organization. Demonstrated experience with short-form video creation and growing digital communities.
  • Position Qualities: Fast-moving self-starter; strong storyteller; comfortable in live environments; organized and deadline-oriented; creative, visually savvy, and passionate about community impact.
  • $20 per hour (DOQ). Part-time (20–25 hours/week). Flexible schedule with required on-site presence. Opportunity to elevate the voice of a 40+ year community institution.
