Job Description

Job Title: Service Manager
Company: Orkin Pest Control
Job Type: Full-time
Lead the Team That Protects Our Community
Are you a natural leader who excels at building high-performing teams? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can mentor others, drive operational excellence, and ensure top-tier customer satisfaction?
At Orkin, we are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Service Manager to join our branch leadership team. In this critical role, you will be the driving force behind our field operations. You will manage, train, and support a team of Route Technicians, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge, and motivation to deliver the exceptional service Orkin has been known for over the past 120+ years.
If you are a problem-solver who loves coaching people to success and taking ownership of daily operations, we want you to lead our team!
What You Will Do
As a Service Manager, you are the bridge between branch management and the technicians out in the field. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Hiring, training, and continuously mentoring a team of Pest Control. You will conduct regular field evaluations to ensure safety protocols and quality standards are met.
  • Operational Efficiency: Overseeing daily route management and scheduling to maximize efficiency, profitability, and on-time service delivery for our customers.
  • Customer Experience: Acting as the highest level of support for customer service in the field. You will handle escalated customer concerns, troubleshoot complex pest issues, and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Safety & Compliance: Championing "The Orkin Way" by strictly enforcing safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and proper chemical handling and storage procedures.
  • Fleet & Inventory Management: Managing the branch’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance, and overseeing the inventory of equipment and pest control products.
What We’re Looking For
We need a proactive leader who is just as comfortable in the field as they are in the office. To be successful, you will need:
  • Character: First and foremost, we seek individuals who possess high moral standards and have a desire to help people.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing, training, and motivating a team, preferably in a route-based, field service, or home services industry. (Pest control experience is a strong plus, but we will train the right leader).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think on your feet, resolve scheduling conflicts, and troubleshoot both customer and employee challenges with a level head.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, upper management, and customers.
  • Flexibility & Drive: A strong work ethic with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and help in the field when the team needs you.
  • Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred), a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a background check, physical, and drug screen.
Why Choose Orkin?
We believe that strong leaders deserve strong support. When you join Orkin management, you receive:
  • Competitive Compensation: A strong base salary plus monthly performance-based bonuses tied to branch success and team retention.
  • Company Vehicle: A take-home company vehicle with a gas card and all maintenance covered.
  • Training: Comprehensive management and technical training.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Discount medical benefits.
  • Retirement Planning: 401(k) plan with a company match.
  • Work-Life Balance: Vacation and Holidays off! (mainly Mon-Fri work!)
  • Career Advancement: Clear, structured pathways to advance into Branch Management and regional leadership roles.
