SEO Specialist/Content Writer - Remote

Responsibilities

• Create clear, accurate, audience-focused content for websites and digital channels, including blogs, specialty pages, provider biographies, web pages, landing pages, email copy, social media content, newsletters, and FAQs
• Refresh and rewrite existing content to improve clarity, usability, search discoverability, and performance
• Develop content optimized for SEO and answer-engine optimization, including AI Overviews, featured snippets, FAQs, and conversational search
• Conduct keyword research and use search intent, competitive insights, and local-market trends to identify content opportunities and guide recommendations
• Ensure content meets established reading-level requirements and accessibility standards while maintaining accuracy and an appropriate healthcare tone
• Optimize on-page SEO elements, including headlines, metadata, title tags, meta descriptions, alt text, internal links, and page structure
• Monitor and analyze content performance, search rankings, and discoverability using SEO and analytics tools
• Publish and maintain digital content in WordPress
• Maintain consistency with brand standards, editorial guidelines, accessibility expectations, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with digital, marketing, design, SEO, and subject-matter stakeholders throughout content planning, review, and publishing

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in digital content writing, copywriting, SEO content, or a related field
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality website, blog, landing-page, and/or healthcare content
• Experience writing for healthcare, health services, or another regulated industry
• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, metadata, internal linking, and content performance analysis
• Knowledge of answer-engine optimization and content structures that support AI-driven and conversational search
• Experience using SEMrush or a comparable SEO research platform
• Hands-on experience authoring and publishing content in WordPress
• Ability to write clear, accessible content that meets defined reading-level standards
• Strong research, editing, proofreading, organizational, and project-management skills
• Ability to adapt writing to multiple brand voices and collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
