SEO Specialist - Remote

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement technical SEO, content optimization, and local SEO strategies for assigned client accounts.
• Apply semantic search principles to strengthen topical authority, internal linking, and content architecture.
• Build and maintain structured data using JSON-LD and Schema.org, focusing on entity relationships and visibility in AI-powered search results.
• Use vector embeddings and semantic proximity to identify patterns, improve content clusters, and inform SEO strategy.
• Apply AI tools and APIs, including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini, to conduct audits, identify entities and content gaps, classify information, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Develop and quality-check content briefs that support E-E-A-T, YMYL compliance, and legal search intent.
• Use Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog, and related tools to monitor site health, identify technical issues, and measure performance.
• Optimize crawling, indexation, site performance, and internal linking structures.
• Collaborate with content teams, developers, project leads, and SEO leadership to improve workflows and campaign outcomes.
• Develop internal documentation, playbooks, and repeatable processes that support the wider SEO team.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in legal, healthcare, finance, or another regulated industry.
• Proven experience managing SEO campaigns from technical audits and implementation through performance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Schema.org markup, structured data deployment, and semantic site architecture.
• Practical experience using AI tools and APIs for SEO workflows beyond basic prompting or content generation, including audits, classification, prompt chaining, and data-informed strategy.
• Understanding of vector embeddings, entity clustering, contextual proximity, and their applications in modern search.
• Strong technical SEO skills, including crawl optimization, indexation control, site performance, and internal linking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex SEO concepts to clients and internal teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with content teams, developers, and project leads.

Preferred

• Familiarity with AI-influenced search experiences, including Google SGE, Perplexity, and ChatGPT browsing.
• Experience creating and interpreting SEO dashboards using Looker Studio or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of WordPress, including theme-level and plugin-level SEO implementation.
• Experience optimizing legal directory profiles and citations, such as Avvo, Findlaw, and Martindale.
• Previous experience with a legal marketing agency or multi-location law firms.
