Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal SEO subject-matter expert — advise team members and leadership on strategy, best practices, and decisions
• Educate and upskill a small team (1-5 people) on SEO fundamentals and advanced tactics
• Execute hands-on SEO work: audits, keyword research, technical fixes, content optimization, link strategy, reporting
• Support client-facing conversations when SEO expertise is needed (calls, strategy presentations, Q&A)
• Leverage AI tools to scale SEO workflows — research, content briefs, audits, reporting — and help the team adopt them effectively
• Stay current on algorithm updates, industry trends, and tooling; translate changes into actionable guidance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot SEO performance issues across client accounts
• Adapt quickly as algorithms, client priorities, and industry best practices shift — this role requires comfort with ambiguity and frequent change

Requirements

• 4-7 years hands-on SEO experience (technical, content, and off-page)
• Proven track record improving organic search performance
• Genuine enthusiasm for using AI tools to work smarter and scale output
• Comfortable explaining SEO concepts to non-experts (leadership, clients, junior team members)
• Experience with SEO tools
• Strong written/verbal communication — will present findings to clients and team
• Adaptable to shifting priorities, algorithm changes, or client needs without missing a beat
• Comfortable working remote/async
