Salary: $65,000 – $80,000

Location: On-site and at-home weekly (downtown Salt Lake City)

Experience: 5+ years (post-schooling)

Targa, a Salt Lake City marketing firm, is looking for a Senior Art Director to help lead the visual development and execution of communications and collateral for key clients.

This role requires a designer who can move comfortably between concept and execution. You will contribute to creative direction, develop visual systems, and produce polished deliverables across print, digital, and motion environments. The work moves quickly, so the ability to think clearly, solve problems creatively, and execute at pace is essential.

You will partner closely with designers, account leadership, and clients to translate ideas into strong visual solutions. The right candidate brings creative leadership to projects while also maintaining the hands-on production discipline required to deliver high-quality work.

Candidates must have a good mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Press-ready design, production experience, and competent editing skills will be prioritized. Video/motion graphics experience is valuable (After Effects, Premiere). Other useful skills include copy editing and UX/UI design to support ongoing campaigns. For this position, it’s also beneficial to be up to date with new technologies and marketing trends. This position works closely with our team’s leadership, copywriters, designers, and project managers.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creative concept development and hands-on creative execution
• Strong typography, visual hierarchy, and design composition
• Print production, publication design, and press-ready file prep
• Digital asset creation and optimization for web, email, and mobile
• Design editing/proofing, layout refinement, and quality assurance
• Highly collaborative with an empowering attitude

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years professional design experience in a fast-paced creative or agency environment
• Strong command of typography, visual hierarchy, layout, and design fundamentals
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly with teammates and clients
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines
• High proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Familiarity with motion tools such as After Effects or Premiere
• Experience in Figma or similar collaborative design platforms for digital layout and UI
• Experience with AI-assisted creative tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, etc.)
• Experience in project and workflow systems (Monday.com, Asana, Notion, etc.)
• Working knowledge of workflow tools and collaborative platforms (Google Workspace, MS Office, project management systems)
• Curiosity and leadership mindset, contributing ideas while supporting team growth
