Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall social media strategy and day-to-day execution across IGN Entertainment and associated brands, including Gamer Network.
  • Oversee publishing, programming, and audience development across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant social platforms.
  • Manage and mentor a team of social producers and coordinators across global markets, spanning both video and non-video content.
  • Manage and optimize social media presence at live events, including Comic-Con, red carpets, game launches, and movie junkets.
  • Collaborate closely with IGN teams globally (UK, LA, NYC, and across the US) to align strategies and campaigns.
  • Partner closely with editorial, video, and branded content teams to develop and optimize content formats that drive traffic, engagement, revenue, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Drive social media initiatives for display media, video, commerce, and referral traffic.
  • Track, analyze, and report on platform performance, referral traffic, audience trends, and revenue contribution across social channels, adjusting strategy to meet targets.
  • Work with sales and branded teams on ideation and execution of branded-social campaigns.
  • Lead social support and strategy for major editorial tentpoles, live events, branded campaigns, and special initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in social media management, digital publishing, audience development, or content strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to grow audiences, drive engagement, and deliver on revenue goals
  • Strong experience analyzing performance metrics, traffic trends, and revenue outcomes to inform decision-making and content strategy
  • Proven experience leading social strategy and operations for a major media brand, entertainment company, publisher, or digital content organization
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and YouTube Shorts, including publishing best practices, audience behavior, and platform-specific content strategy
  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams and cross-functional projects
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing creative and operational teams
  • Track record of partnering effectively with editorial, video, production, sales, and branded content teams
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple teams
  • A strong understanding of gaming, entertainment, technology, and fan culture is highly preferred
