Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the vision holder for Minecraft's creator monetization, defining a multi-year product and business strategy that aligns player value, creator success, marketplace quality, platform trust, and Minecraft's long-term growth.
  • Lead and manage product teams across creator monetization surfaces, including Marketplace, Minecoins, creator revenue, catalog strategy, and monetization systems for current and future creator products.
  • Own the operating model for creator compensation and incentives, including payout strategy, program health, forecasting, governance, experimentation, and ongoing economic operations.
  • Build and scale high-performing teams, including managers and senior individual contributors, with clear charters, decision rights, accountability mechanisms, and durable planning rhythms.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative insight to manage overall creator monetization health, including creator revenue, player engagement with creator-made content, conversion, retention, catalog quality, pricing effectiveness, and reinvestment behavior.
  • Partner closely with data science, analytics, finance, and commerce teams to build a trusted source of truth for ecosystem health and translate complex analysis into executive-ready narratives and decisions.
  • Partner with Creator Experience to connect onboarding, eligibility, publishing, analytics, monetization, and reinvestment into a coherent creator journey.
  • Partner with Creator Growth & Discovery to improve how players find, try, purchase, return to, and advocate for creator-made experiences.
  • Partner with Creator Relations and Partnerships to understand creator needs, support strategic creators and studios, and ensure scaled programs inform product direction.
  • Bring market, competitive, regulatory, platform, and creator insights into product strategy so Minecraft can make informed choices about monetization models, incentive design, and ecosystem expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.

Preferred

  • 10+ years of product management, business strategy, marketplace platform, creator ecosystem, commerce, gaming, UGC platform, or related digital economy experience.
  • Proven ability to set vision, define strategy, build alignment, and deliver measurable product, creator, player, and business outcomes at scale.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, creator monetization, platform incentives, pricing, payout models, revenue models, economic forecasting, and ecosystem health.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across engineering, design, data science, research, marketing, finance, business development, legal, policy, and operations.
  • Strong analytical judgment, including the ability to use data to understand marketplace performance, creator behavior, player engagement, monetization, retention, and business impact.
  • Exceptional data-driven storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience managing a product lifecycle from strategy and concept through launch, iteration, measurement, and operational scaling.
  • Working understanding of technical product development, including software development processes, platform dependencies, experimentation systems, data instrumentation, and analytics tooling.
  • Experience making high-quality tradeoffs across player experience, creator needs, platform trust, business growth, and operational complexity.
