Senior Accountant (Month-End Close Focus | 4+ Years Experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and deadline-driven Senior Accountant with 4+ years of experience and a proven track record in leading and executing month-end close processes. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and will serve as a key owner of the close cycle, reconciliations, and financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
  • Own and execute key components of the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion within tight deadlines
  • Prepare and post complex journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclasses, allocations)
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurate and fully supported
  • Analyze and explain month-over-month variances in financial results
  • Maintain and continuously improve the close checklist, timelines, and workflows
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to accelerate the close cycle
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Own the integrity and accuracy of monthly financial statements by leading close activities, validating underlying data, and ensuring all balances are fully supported
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
  • Provide insights into financial performance and key trends
Audit & Compliance Support
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Assist with year-end close and financial statement preparation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with FP&A, operations, and other departments to gather data for accruals and reporting
  • Communicate deadlines and requirements to ensure timely close inputs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on month-end close responsibility
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and close processes
  • Experience managing or contributing to fast-paced close cycles
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
