About the Role:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Arena. Working closely with the Controller and accounting staff, this individual will manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate reporting, and support financial processes across the organization.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple financial responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Salt Lake City, Utah headquarters. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Project accounting which involves partnering with Client Services and Production to ensure accurate cost allocation, maintain current project cost reporting, and complete monthly purchase order reconciliations.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting and accounting team to support daily and strategic financial operations in Digital and Print Advertising.
• Analyze key financial data to ensure accuracy and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations with documented support, aging analysis, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Leverage advanced NetSuite functionality including Saved Searches, custom segments, statistical accounts, and reporting hierarchies to improve financial visibility.
• Create, maintain, and optimize spreadsheets and financial tracking tools.
• Maintain Project Accounting and update actual project spend.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Maintain all aspects of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process.
• Monitor and record bank transactions.
• Monitor and reconcile merchant service accounts.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of close and reconciliations.
• 4+ years of hands-on NetSuite experience, including Saved Searches and Financial Reporting.
• Demonstrated experience building advanced spreadsheet models for financial analysis and reporting automation.
• Experience in a project-based, agency, or job-cost environment strongly preferred.

• Advanced NetSuite proficiency including Saved Searches, custom reporting, and data imports/exports for modeling.
• Expert-level Excel and Google Sheets skills including Pivot Tables, nested formulas, data validation, and structured financial models.
• Experience working with high-volume transactional data and multi-entity or departmental reporting structures.
