Responsibilities

• administering a public relations program for the SCDA that will include media relations, social media content creation, event coordination, and crisis communication.
• researching, writing, receiving and responding to inquiries, creating content for all forms of communications, including digital channels, and coordinating events such as press conferences.
• The employee must exercise a moderate amount of independent judgment within established guidelines, and must take initiative in the performance of their duties.

Requirements

• Graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, or related field, AND have two (2) years of ex­perience (non-internship) that regularly involved writing or editing responsibilities in the fields of journalism, marketing, managerial sales or public relations; OR
• Graduation from a standard senior high school and six (6) years of exper­ience that regularly involved writing or editing responsibilities in the fields of journalism, marketing, managerial sales, or public relations; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by (1) and (2).
