Public Relations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out public affairs strategies and communication plans that produce measurable results.
• Write and edit press releases, talking points, newsletters, speeches and briefings.
• Coordinate media relations: respond to inquiries, arrange and moderate interviews, and maintain relationships with media outlets.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of public affairs campaigns.
• Plan and run events such as press conferences, media briefings and community engagement activities.
• Support leadership with crisis communication plans, and update website and social media content.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, project management or a related field.
• 5 or more years of experience in public affairs, project management, or a combination of both.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment, with strong prioritization and time management.
• Proficiency with project management tools and software and with digital communication tools.
• Knowledge of strategic communication methods, and skill in building cooperative relationships with organizations on and off the installation.

Preferred

• Familiarity with healthcare systems or military communications.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
