Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounts with confidence. You are comfortable serving as the day-to-day contact for several client accounts, managing client requests and expectations, anticipating needs, and attending and leading client meetings.
  • Drive media relations strategy. You understand what it takes to secure media coverage. You consistently bring media opportunities to clients and can successfully guide your team’s pitching efforts.
  • Write with precision. You absorb new information with ease and can transcribe that knowledge into impactful press releases, bylined articles, blog posts, media responses, and social media posts that require minimal to no edits.
  • Develop communications plans. You take a strategic approach to delighting clients and bringing reliable value. Working with senior management, you establish client priorities and put plans into motion.
  • Serve as a manager and mentor. You confidently manage small teams and serve as a trusted mentor for junior talent. You provide structured assignments, meaningful edits and helpful feedback for team members.
  • Be a team player. You collaborate seamlessly, can demonstrate success in supporting client needs and contribute to agency initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4 – 6 years of public relations experience, with at least two years of experience at a PR agency
  • Confidence with leading client interactions and track record of delivering exceptional results
  • Proven media pitching success
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Experience managing junior team members
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs and work under tight deadlines
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving
  • Experience in digital communications, including social media, influencer relations, and SEO a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field, preferred.
