Public Relations Communications Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Assist with the execution of public relations and communications initiatives, including drafting press releases, tracking media relations activities, drafting and posting to the firm’s social media channels, and other external communications projects.
• Assist in preparing award submissions and survey responses, including coordinating deadlines and ensuring high-quality, timely submissions.
• Gather, organize, and verify information from attorneys, practice groups, and other internal stakeholders, ensuring materials are accurate, complete, and ready for review or publication.
• Coordinate project timelines, deadlines, and follow-up activities, tracking outstanding requests, approvals, and deliverables to ensure communications projects progress efficiently.
• Conduct research and monitor media coverage, compiling relevant information, tracking firm and attorney mentions and preparing reports or summaries as needed.
• Maintain and organize communications resources, including media contact lists, distribution lists, project trackers, databases, archives, and other shared materials.
• Use a variety of technology tools and platforms, with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new systems and adapt to evolving technologies.
• Assist with special projects and other communications-related responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related administrative or coordination role preferred.
• Curiosity about artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, including a willingness to explore how AI tools can responsibly improve efficiency, organization, and communications workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and editing abilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, track multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals across multiple departments, offices, and levels of seniority.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional judgment, and a high level of discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative while working within established processes and guidelines.

Preferred

• Experience in a law firm, professional services firm, public relations agency, or corporate communications environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, and social media scheduling tools preferred.
• Experience with media monitoring tools, PR databases, content management systems, or project management platforms is a plus.
