Job Summary

Own the end-to-end assessment of the product portfolio to drive profitability, oversee cross-functional action plans, and steward data-driven decisions from pricing and new product development to performance reporting.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and understand the current product portfolio to identify performance gaps and areas to improve profitability.
  • Develop action plans to address product mix gaps and collaborate with sales, operations, and pricing to achieve results.
  • Make recommendations on product discontinuation or modifications based on profitability, market demand, and operational input.
  • Develop and manage breakeven pricing on items that require further processing.
  • Collect and analyze data related to sales, revenue, and profitability to identify trends and patterns.
  • Construct and maintain methods of analyzing data using Microsoft Excel and other software applications as needed.
  • Facilitate the development of new products by coordinating with other business units to determine feasibility and see the project through to launch.
  • Manage the New Product Request process from submission to prioritization and completion.
  • Work closely with the plants to fulfill sample requests.
  • Develop relationships with plant production managers to create a dialogue regarding product mix performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, such as Economics, Business, Marketing, or Meat Science.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in an analytical environment required.
  • Experience with projects and process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand broader business objectives.
  • Meat industry experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong multitasking, organization, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to think like a business owner and understand the decision-making process.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across teams.
