Job Summary

Own the churchs communications engine across ministries, aligning mission goals with consistent storytelling and multi-channel outreach.

  • Communications strategy ownership: partner with pastors, ministry staff, and lay leaders to promote events, ministries, and initiatives
  • Brand stewardship across all platforms, with consistent tone, design, and messaging
  • Tech and content ownership: manage Sunday digital worship elements, ProPresenter workflows, livestreaming, website, social, newsletters, and app updates

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the church’s mission and ministry goals by partnering with pastors, ministry staff, and lay leaders to promote church-wide events, ministries, and initiatives.
  • Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistent tone, design, and messaging across all platforms.
  • Oversee the Technology and Worship Technology Team and all Sunday digital worship elements, utilizing ProPresenter and other programs, including livestreaming.
  • Attend weekly staff and worship meetings, including regular quarterly planning and calendaring meetings (in person or virtually.)
  • Oversee the church website: design, content updates, SEO, and functionality.
  • Manage all social media channels, creating content that is timely, engaging, and mission driven.
  • Produce weekly e-newsletters, worship bulletins, sign-ups, and other regular communication pieces
  • Design promotional materials (print and digital) for sermon series, events, and ministries.
  • Manage the church app and subsequent software.
  • Support preschool with any digital or print communication needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated success in communications, preferably in a nonprofit or church setting.
  • Proficiency with digital media tools (social media platforms, email marketing, website CMS, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with the United Methodist Church preferred.
