Job Summary

Own the district and school level parent involvement workflow, turning needs into actionable programs, volunteer programs, and parent education while keeping records and coordinating with city partners.

  • Program Development: Plan and implement parent programs and activities that align with school goals.
  • Volunteer & Training: Build parent information campaigns and organize parent volunteers and training efforts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Align parent strategies with other city programs and maintain School/Family Compacts records.

Job Description

  • Program Development: To assist in the planning and implementation of meaningful programs and activities for parents.
  • Volunteer & Training: To assist in the development and dissemination of parent information which will increase parent knowledge of programs and activities within the school and district.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: To assist in the coordination and integration of parent involvement strategies with other city programs and agencies.
  • Record Keeping: To assume responsibility for maintaining records related to School/Family Compacts.
  • Communications & Outreach: To make parent contacts when needed through letters, newsletters, phone conversations and home visits (when needed with social workers, nurses or teachers).
  • Needs Assessment: To conduct needs/interest survey to identify subjects important to parents and their children to better plan workshops/activities.
  • Home Support Training: To provide parent training to help parents help their children at home to improve their basic skills.
  • Volunteer Program Organization: To help plan and organize a program of parent volunteers for the classroom at the school.
  • Community Linkage: To assist in the planning and implementation of the schools USIP parent involvement goals and objectives.
  • Title I Support: To perform such other tasks as may be required by the Title I Program.
