Responsibilities

• Promote our programs
• Organize events
• Raise funds
• Co-write grants
• Create and distribute educational and promotional materials to our partners around the county
• Other tasks as needed. We cross-train, help each other, and do what needs to be done

Requirements

• 12 hours per week, flexible, with occasional evenings and weekends
• Some familiarity with grant writing and nonprofit fundraising and donation solicitation
• Some event work experience (from getting the permits, to promoting, to locking the doors at the end of the night)
• Basic office skills, filing and data entry and envelope stuffing
• Some rudimentary Photoshop skills
• Comfort with technology, Zoom, email, spreadsheets, word processing, cloud based files, and learning new things
• Excellent command of the English language
• Ability to hear, speak, read and write (We are teaching English literacy including penmanship and pronunciation)
• Ability to lift and carry a heavy box of books (We do a lot of that)
• Ability to reliably transport oneself at will between our Eureka and Fortuna Offices and locales around Humboldt as needed

Preferred

• Fluency in Spanish preferred
