Responsibilities

• 1. Membership Growth, Engagement & Recruitment
• Recruit prospective members through direct outreach, referrals, events, partnerships, and AJMA programs.
• Welcome and engage new members and connect them with relevant AJMA opportunities.
• Support membership renewals and re-engagement of members who have become inactive or lapsed.
• Maintain regular contact with members and prospective members and respond to membership inquiries.
• Support AJMA’s Member Advisory Council and other opportunities for member involvement.
• 2. Community & Institutional Outreach
• Build relationships with JERGs, hospitals and health systems, medical schools, Jewish organizations, and other community partners.
• Engage students, trainees, and healthcare professionals through in-person and virtual outreach.
• Attend relevant healthcare, student, and Jewish community events to represent AJMA and develop prospective-member relationships.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional experience, preferably in membership, sales, business development, recruitment, community engagement, communications, customer success, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with new people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with strong follow-through.
• Comfortable using databases, email platforms, and other digital tools to track relationships and engagement.
• Able to work independently in a primarily remote environment and as part of a small, collaborative team.
• Interest in AJMA’s mission and strengthening Jewish community within healthcare.
• Healthcare, Jewish communal, association, or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.
