Regularly pitch client stories to media and follow-up on story opportunities
Draft well-written press releases and compelling content
Create targeted media distribution lists
Monitor for client media coverage
Attend occasional trade shows, sales meetings and in-person media meetings on behalf of clients, with national and potential international travel as required by client needs

Requirements

At least two to five years of experience in marketing, PR, brand strategy, and/or journalism
Exceptional writing and communication skills
Wide ranging consumption of industry and industry-adjacent media (including traditional media, podcasts, and other news)
Demonstrated interest (which could include volunteer or internship positions) in the outdoor and active lifestyle industry
Passion for outdoor brands and storytelling, and an eye for the people and organizations changing and shaping the culture of outdoor recreation and sport
