Job Summary

Build and lead scientific content and client strategy for promotional accounts, translating complex medical literature into rigorous, compliant materials while coordinating with junior staff and senior scientists to support client objectives.

  • Scientific leadership and content development across medical communications, slide decks, and visual aids.
  • Onsite client support, meetings, congresses, and strategy planning.
  • Cross-functional coordination and mentorship of junior staff, with potential for direct reports.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the scientific services client lead for assigned promotional accounts.
  • Develop and/or review medical communications projects (e.g., slide decks, advisory board materials) across multiple clients and therapeutic areas.
  • Create visual aids and other sales materials and other promotional content.
  • Provide onsite support at key client meetings, congresses, or events.
  • Ensure deliverables are scientifically rigorous, aligned with client strategy, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Lead scientific content for assigned accounts and coordinate with senior scientific staff.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and health care providers as stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing overall strategic direction and planning for assigned accounts.
  • Direct projects/content development for junior scientific staff; potential to manage direct reports.
  • Travel and work remotely or NYC office per candidate choice.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Ability to understand complex scientific and medical literature.
  • Experience developing medical communications materials.
  • Direct client and HCP interaction experience.
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, and consistent content.
  • Ability to relate to diverse audiences and simplify abstract ideas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Master’s degree, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years medical writing experience, preferably in a health care marketing or communications agency setting.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with internal and external partners.
