Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Departmental Assessment & Strategy: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current Media Department staffing levels and team skillsets. Identify gaps and opportunities to optimize the structure for future growth.
  • Targeted Digital Training & Mentorship: Lead and mentor the media and strategy team. Design and implement an immediate, hands-on training program for the current team focused on digital media planning and buying. This program should upskill existing staff on modern digital tactics, platforms, and buying strategies to elevate the agency’s overall digital output.
  • Client Needs Analysis: Understand and analyze the current needs of clients across our existing client list from a media perspective, ensuring proactive and strategic support.
  • New Business Development: Assist with new business acquisitions from a Media Director standpoint, providing high-level strategy, planning, and recommendations during the pitch process.
  • Strategic Excellence: Oversee strategic direction across assigned accounts, ensuring media planning aligns with client business objectives. Establish and approve overall media strategy standards for the agency.
  • Operational & Financial Oversight: Ensure fiscal responsibility for media costs. Work with client relations to negotiate staffing plans and SOWs. Analyze complex documents (contracts, MSAs) to ensure agency protection.
  • Agency Culture: Maintain a deep understanding of Sanders\\Wingo business processes and represent the agency at industry opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of work experience at a Media Director Level with a strong background in developing and negotiating both traditional and digital paid media plans within an advertising agency environment.
  • Training & Leadership: Demonstrated success in team leadership, active mentorship, and delivering professional training programs.
  • Data & Insights: Proficiency in using analytics and data to build effective consumer connection strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate strategy to clients and leadership clearly.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and remote collaboration tools. Proficiency in industry planning and buying tools (e.g., Strata, Workamajig) is preferred.
  • Cultural Fit: Multicultural consumer segment expertise is preferred.
