About Bā
Boeh Agency (Bā) moves water brands forward. We're a full-service marketing and public relations (PR) agency built exclusively for the water sector, serving technology innovators, utilities and organizations working to protect, preserve and improve access to clean water.
We champion brands addressing water's biggest challenges by combining sector fluency with sharp, integrated marketing expertise. Our work helps clients gain momentum from day one, offering clarity, confidence and purposeful progress in a rapidly evolving industry.
As a values-driven team, we make waves together, deliver clarity, champion with care and lead the curve. We work collaboratively, think boldly and create meaningful impact for our clients, our team and the communities connected by water.
About the role
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is the strategic lead and primary relationship-holder for a portfolio of Bā clients. You own two things above everything else: the client relationship and the integrated marketing strategy behind it.
You're the person our clients trust to understand their business, tell them what they need to hear and build the marketing plan that gets them where they're going. Then you partner with our internal specialists in PR, digital, creative and content to bring that plan to life.
You'll lead roughly eight to 10 accounts, technical companies selling complex products to sophisticated buyers on long sales cycles: water treatment technology, monitoring and data platforms, infrastructure and industrial solutions. Our job is to turn that complexity into clear positioning, the right channel mix and campaigns that create real momentum. Your job is to captain that work.
You'll report to the Marketing Director, who sets the strategic standard across the portfolio and will mentor you directly. We're not expecting you to arrive with every answer. We're expecting you to arrive with real integrated marketing experience in a technical or complex business-to-business (B2B) category, and we'll give you the path to full strategic ownership here.
The SAM + PM partnership
Every SAM at Bā is paired with a Project Manager (PM). The SAM is the captain of the account, leading the client relationship, developing effective marketing strategies and leading a team to execute. The PM is the first mate, owning timelines, scope, budget and the mechanics of delivery.
A note on the water sector
Bā only works in water, and our value to clients depends on marketing strategy that could only have come from an agency that knows this sector inside and out. Water or water-adjacent experience (environmental, infrastructure, utilities, industrial process, engineering services) isn't required, but we're prioritizing it in this role. If you don't have it yet but everything else fits, we still want to hear from you!
What you'll own
01 // Client relationship + leadership
Serve as the primary strategic and client-facing lead for your accounts, the person clients call first, building relationships grounded in trust, candor and genuine care.
Lead client conversations with confidence, from strategy sessions to the occasional hard conversation, staying a step ahead so you're bringing ideas before they're asked for.
Represent Bā with warmth and credibility at select industry events and conferences.
02 // Integrated marketing strategy
You build the plan. For each account, you own the strategic thinking that guides the work, developed in partnership with the Marketing Director and informed by our specialists.
Develop positioning and messaging strategy that translates technical products into language sophisticated buyers actually respond to.
Map the funnel and buyer journey, then design campaign strategy, channel mix and sequencing that ladders directly to the client's business goals.
Build and maintain the client's marketing plan, revisiting it as performance data, market shifts and new opportunities come in.
Lead audit and recommendations engagements for new clients — discovery through one clear strategic story.
03 // Orchestrating the specialists
Bā's PR, digital, creative and content specialists bring deep expertise in their lanes; your job is to direct that input into a single coherent strategy and set of recommendations.
Brief specialists clearly on client goals and direction, then ask insightful questions and push back on recommendations that don't connect to those goals.
Bring specialist input together into unified plans and presentations that read as one strategy, not a stack of separate deliverables.
Review deliverables through a strategic lens before they reach the client.
04 // Delivery partnership
Partner with your PM to keep every account on strategy, on time and on budget, with enough working visibility into scope and budget to speak to any of it in a client conversation.
Hold internal and external stakeholders accountable to agreed-upon goals.
Surface risks, delays and scope creep early, with context and a recommendation.
05 // Account health + growth
Own the day-to-day health of your accounts — retention, satisfaction, revenue — and keep the Marketing Director informed, flagging risk before it becomes a problem.
Hold regular relationship conversations with clients beyond delivery status, so you know how the work is landing and what's changing in their business.
Bring client context and strategic input to renewals, proposals and scoping, in partnership with the Marketing Director and the wider team.
About you
You're an integrated marketer who has actually built the plan, not just contributed to one. You've done it in a sector where buyers are technical, sales cycles are long and messaging takes real translation.
You're warm, direct and easy to reach. Clients trust you because you tell them the truth and because they can tell you care about their business.
You bring:
Integrated marketing ownership in a technical or complex-B2B sector.
Hands-on experience building and owning integrated marketing strategy (positioning, go-to-market, campaign strategy across channels) in industrial, infrastructure, environmental, engineering, energy, water technology or a similar category.
Working fluency across the full channel set. You won't personally execute in every channel, but you'll have working fluency across everything Bā delivers — enough to speak about it with a client, ask the right questions, know when a recommendation is off, and read performance data well enough to turn it into a decision. Includes brand and content; earned media/ PR; website including SEO; paid media; organic social; email and marketing automation; webinars and events.
Genuine warmth and emotional intelligence. You build real relationships, read people well and are at home in an informal, accessible, highly responsive client style. Embedded partner, not outsourced resource.
Clear communication, written and verbal. You can make a complex recommendation feel simple, and you can present it to a room of executives.
The ability to lead through others. You direct specialist expertise without needing to do it yourself and without micromanaging.
Comfort with candor, including telling a client something uncomfortable, admitting what you don't know and following through.
Openness to mentorship. You're experienced, and you're ready to be developed into full strategic ownership under the Marketing Director.
Strongly preferred:
Marketing experience in water or a water-adjacent sector (environmental, utilities, infrastructure, industrial process, engineering services).
Bonus points for:
Agency experience, especially at a smaller agency where you've managed multiple clients and priorities at once.
Hands-on paid digital background (paid search, paid social, SEO or email) that lets you engage more credibly with the digital performance side of our audit and strategy work.
Experience using HubSpot, ClickUp or similar management tools
Experience working within EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
Compensation + benefits
This is a full-time, remote employee (W2) position. We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
Annual salary: $95,000 to $115,000, based on experience
Flexible paid time off (PTO)
Medical and dental insurance
