Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing Specialist supports the planning and execution of WEF’s brand and events marketing initiatives.
  • This role plays a key part in promoting WEF’s events portfolio, including WEFTEC, North America’s largest water quality event, and contributes to brand-building efforts across digital, print, and experiential channels.
  • This role is ideal for a developing marketing professional with 2–4 years of experience who is ready to take on more complex tasks and gain deeper exposure to campaign execution, digital channels, and event marketing workflows.
  • Working closely with the Senior Manager of Brand & Events Marketing, the Marketing Specialist helps implement campaigns, manage content and assets, coordinate timelines, track performance, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution.
  • The Marketing Specialist will collaborate with other Marcomm leaders and across WEF as needed to support organization-wide priorities.
  • The Marketing Specialist must thrive on initiative, problem solving, being agile, inclusive and be a team player.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a matrixed organization and be eager to support WEF’s mission.
  • Candidates must be a self-starter with motivation to work in a highly collaborative team to make a significant difference in the water sector.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, events, or a related field (internships included).
  • HS Diploma or BS (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus (WordPress, AI, email platforms, CMS, etc.).
  • Experience supporting events, campaigns, or creative production is a plus.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to WEF’s mission and member-focused values.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20 - 25% of the year to attend WEF events and industry conferences.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus (WordPress, AI, email platforms, CMS, etc.).
  • Experience supporting events, campaigns, or creative production is a plus.
