Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Centers outreach and community tabling events, including scheduling, communicating with staff and community organizers, and preparing supplies for events.
- Represent the Helen Ross McNabb Center at outreach events, fostering relationships with community members and organizations.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with social, civic, and local organizations to promote volunteer opportunities and community engagement.
- Attend community events to recruit volunteers, increase awareness of the Centers programs, and promote volunteer initiatives.
- Serve as a Speakers Bureau and community representative, responding to requests for speaking engagements and coordinating with program staff.
- Act as the primary contact for partner agencies and Chamber organizations in Hamilton and McMinn counties for community events and informational needs.
- Manage the community relations aspects of awareness events, including engaging stakeholders, coordinating internal communications, and supporting event logistics.
- Oversee short-term volunteer projects within the Greater Chattanooga area, managing volunteers from initial contact through completion and tracking volunteer hours.
- Assist in marketing efforts by creating content for social media, monitoring online engagement, and supporting promotional campaigns.
- Support the organizations events such as ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings, ensuring smooth execution and community engagement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors to support the organizations mission and operational needs.
Requirements
- A Bachelor;s degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with marketing tools, including social media platforms and content creation.
- Some familiarity with Adobe design software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Candidates must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable engaging with diverse community groups.
- Physical and emotional resilience is necessary, as the role involves travel, event participation, and interaction with various stakeholders.
