Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing & Events Coordinator serves as the lead for Merrick’s full event lifecycle, responsible for independently managing multiple events simultaneously while ensuring flawless execution and alignment with event objectives.
  • Lead end‑to‑end planning for a diverse portfolio of events, including corporate meetings, open houses, Merrick golf tournament, client engagements, employee events, and special initiative
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify event objectives, target audiences, messaging priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Lead kick-off call and touch base meetings with key stakeholders. Maintain event organization on Teams page for collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive event plans including audience, objectives, timelines, budgets, run‑of‑show documents, staffing/volunteer plans, and contingency strategies.
  • Project manage event preparation with our marketing team for marketing needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure venues and vendors, as required, that best support event goals, logistics, budget, and quality.
  • Coordinate contracts and invoice approvals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of corporate event planning experience
  • Experience managing branded merchandise programs preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred (not required).
  • Ability to coordinate events with executive-level leaders
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during fast‑moving events.
  • Strong project management abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build internal partnerships.
  • Creative problem solver with initiative and follow‑through.
  • Up to 10% travel for events, site visits, and vendor coordination.
