Job Summary

Own and optimize Mercy Hill’s email, SMS, and social content operations to engage current attenders, move them along the discipleship journey, and coordinate cross-team campaigns with a data-driven, brand-consistent approach.

  • Own audience-focused communications: email, text, and social programs that support sermon series, events, and Go/Group/Give initiatives.
  • Coordinate design intake and production with the creative team to protect timelines and brand standards.
  • Measure impact of campaigns and use insights to improve engagement and participation.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build, and deploy email marketing campaigns in Mailchimp, including list segmentation and performance monitoring.
  • Manage text message campaigns through SlickText, ensuring timely and targeted communication.
  • Maintain and grow email and text subscriber lists with a focus on list health and engagement.
  • Track and report on campaign metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and make data-informed recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage the internal communications calendar to ensure ministry teams are supported and no communication needs fall through the cracks.
  • Write compelling, on-brand copy for digital channels including email campaigns, text messages, social media, and event promotions.
  • Maintain consistency with Mercy Hill's voice, style guidelines, and theological distinctives across all written content.
  • Support series and event communications by drafting copy that serves both internal audiences and outward-facing campaigns as needed.
  • Contribute ideas to content planning and assist with research as needed.
  • Own social media content specifically serving people already connected to Mercy Hill, including series engagement content, discipleship next-step promotions, ministry campaigns, and internal event announcements.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of hands-on marketing or communications experience, with demonstrated ability to own work independently.
  • Proven experience managing email marketing campaigns in Mailchimp or a comparable platform.
  • Experience managing social media accounts with documented results in content planning and engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.

  • Meta Business Manager (Instagram and Facebook)
  • Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • WordPress (content updates and basic edits)
  • ClickUp or comparable project management tool

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
  • Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail, grammar, and brand consistency.
  • Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without close supervision.
  • Collaborative team player who communicates proactively and follows through on commitments.
  • Comfortable using AI tools as a regular part of the marketing workflow, including drafting copy, generating ideas, and improving efficiency.
