Job Description

Responsibilities

  • oversee all marketing, communications, public relations, and sponsorship efforts
  • including managing publications, social media, the district website, and digital marketing platforms
  • developing and implementing marketing plans
  • managing budgets
  • coordinating community outreach
  • serving as a media liaison
  • supporting events and board initiatives
  • supervising interns
  • leading the Marketing Committee

Requirements

  • degree in communications or a related field
  • up to two years of experience
  • strong writing and design skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends

It offers more than 250 programs each year, and operates seventeen parks totaling 24.14 acres and four facilities.Facilities include the year-round Franklin Park Ice Arena, the newly renovated Pool on Pacific - which includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a zero depth area with spray features, a drop slide and two tube slides - the Centre at North Park Banquet Hall and Sports Arena, and the Community Center.The park district employs 22 full-time staff, augmented seasonally by more than 120 part-time employees. We participate in a special recreation cooperative, the West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA). Supported by eleven park districts, the association provides special leisure services for people with disabilities.
