Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social Media & Content Creation
  • Curate and schedule engaging content across a multitude of social media platforms
  • Capture and edit photo/video content of shelter animals, events, and promotions for use in social media posts and campaigns.
  • Respond to comments and messages and monitor account activity
  • Help develop and maintain a content calendar that supports marketing and organizational goals
  • Increase engagement and followership across all social media platforms
  • Website & Email Communications
  • Assist with updates to website content, including copy, photos, and page layout
  • Support the creation and distribution of weekly e-newsletters and email campaigns
  • Track email and web performance metrics and suggest improvements

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional or internship experience in digital marketing, social media management, or communications.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Animal welfare experience a plus.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Nextdoor, YouTube, and LinkedIn and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred)).
  • Comfortable with basic photography and videography.
  • Video editing experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with website CMS (WordPress or similar) and email marketing tools (e.g. Constant Contact or similar).

  • Video editing experience a plus.
