Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing Assistant supports A.S. marketing campaigns, campus/vendor relationships, and special promotions.
  • Deliver a consistent image and deepen awareness of A.S. programs, events, and services.
  • Collaborate to develop multi-channel campaigns promoting A.S. programs and services to boost engagement.
  • Content strategy: writes monthly newsletter content and curates Sammy App resources.
  • Strategic alignment: develop project management systems to track internal toolkits and align app content with A.S. sub-departments and partners.
  • Optimization: manage platform health and analyze engagement data to improve reach of digital channels.
  • Content creation & social media: develop and monitor content for Instagram and Facebook with manager approval workflow.
  • Event coverage: attend campus events to capture content and post live updates with leadership approval.
  • Collaborative video production: plan and execute video production with team and campus partners.
  • Campaign promotion: amplify campaigns, surveys, and applications across digital channels.
  • Trend reporting: research social trends and campus news to produce a Weekly Trend Report.

Requirements

  • Enrollment: Must be a current SJSU student.
  • Platform experience: Experience with social media (Instagram, Facebook) and email marketing tools (Constant Contact) preferred but training provided.
  • Software: Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; familiarity with Slack/Asana and tools like Canva or Adobe Express is a plus.
  • Preferred qualifications: Concentration in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
  • Experience with CMS or Project Management software.
