Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social media management: Manage Instagram and TikTok, maintain a content calendar, organize assets, write English captions, schedule posts, and respond to routine comments and messages during agreed working hours.
  • Photography and content creation: Visit the salon once a week for coordination and content capture as needed. Edit photos and short videos, add captions and subtitles, organize technicians’ content, and give practical filming guidance while maintaining a consistent brand style.
  • Influencer selection and outreach: Identify and evaluate creators based on audience location, content style, engagement quality, and brand fit. Contact and invite suitable local creators, coordinate visits, communicate collaboration terms and content requirements, and maintain ongoing relationships.
  • Influencer follow-up and performance tracking: Track appointments, visits, and content delivery. Record collaboration fees or service costs, deliverables, reach, engagement, and attributable inquiries and bookings. Summarize results regularly and recommend future collaborations.
  • Basic SEO and Google/Yelp account management: Help improve website page titles, descriptions, keywords, and service content for local search. Maintain Google Business Profile and Yelp business pages, update hours, services, photos, and promotions, respond to reviews and inquiries using brand guidelines, and track basic performance.
  • Website updates: Update service information, pricing, images, promotions, and booking details. Check content and links for accuracy and coordinate issues that need technical support.
  • Promotions and poster design: Create branded posters and graphics for seasonal campaigns, services, and special offers, adapting them for social media, the salon, and the website. Help carry out promotional plans.
  • Email marketing: Help plan, write, format, and send promotional and customer-retention emails, maintain subscriber lists, and track open rates, clicks, and attributable bookings to suggest improvements.

Requirements

  • Working proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required, including the ability to independently write clear, natural English captions, influencer outreach, and marketing emails.
  • Familiarity with Instagram and TikTok and experience creating content or managing social media accounts.
  • Ability to assess influencer audiences, content quality, and brand fit, with clear communication and reliable follow-up.
  • Ability to use Canva, CapCut, or similar tools to create promotional graphics, edit photos, and produce short videos.
  • Understanding of basic SEO and local search optimization. Experience maintaining Google Business Profile and Yelp business pages is a plus.
  • Ability to make basic content updates through a website dashboard. Familiarity with email marketing tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets to manage schedules, creator lists, and marketing results and prepare brief reports.
  • Good visual judgment, attention to detail, organization, initiative, and dependable on-time delivery.
  • Able to visit our Brooklyn salon once per week and have valid U.S. work authorization applicable to this position before starting work.
  • Paid internship applicants, students, and recent graduates are welcome. This is a paid part-time or internship position at $19–$25 per hour. Prior full-time professional experience is not required; personal, academic, internship, and freelance projects are welcome as work samples. A specific degree is not required; practical skills and work quality matter most. Working proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English and the relevant skills listed above are required.
