Compensation: $74,000.00 - $80,000.00
Summary/Objective
The Marketing Manager plans and executes integrated campaigns that build brand equity, drive attendance and tune-in, and support earned and contributed revenue goals for both the Academy Museum and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. This role supports agency and vendor management, marketing partnerships, and print and digital marketing assets and activations. The ideal candidate blends sharp creative instincts with data-informed decision-making and flawless execution.
Essential Functions Of The Job
  • Support the Marketing Director in leading campaign planning across organic and paid channels.
  • Build and steward strategic marketing partnerships for the Academy (negotiate value-in-kind, co-promotion, and measurement plans) and leverage such partnerships to support revenue, engagement, and audience development goals.
  • Manage execution of all marketing partnership programs.
  • Manage Museum membership outreach in partnership with the Advancement team.
  • Support the Marketing Director in reporting for Museum and Oscars campaigns; track performance against targets and present concise readouts.
  • Partner with relevant leaders to track ticket sales and report numbers to the marketing team to drive key marketing decisions.
  • Day-to-day management of media agency: execution of audience strategy, adherence to plans/buys, track pacing and report internally, remain on budget.
  • Partner with the Brand Creative team to traffic creative assets to internal and external partners for paid and organic channels: timelines, feedback, approvals.
  • Collaborate with the Retail team on product development, marketing strategy, campaign planning, and execution.
  • Partner with Fanny’s and Wolfgang Puck Catering on programming, co-promotion, and onsite activations for the Museum and Oscars.
  • Manage relationships and partnerships with other museums.
  • Prepare materials for Academy and Museum Board meetings as well as internal executive meetings.
  • Coordinate with Data/Analytics on audience insights, segmentation, and attribution; apply learnings to media and creative optimizations.
Required Competencies
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing within entertainment, cultural institutions, live events, or premium consumer brands.
  • Proven agency/media management experience and hands-on campaign ownership.
  • Demonstrated success with marketing partnerships.
  • Strong print production, OOH/signage, and experiential know-how.
  • Working proficiency with marketing analytics dashboards and basic channel KPIs.
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.

Designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Renzo Piano, the Academy Museum will restore and revitalize the historic Saban Building—formerly an iconic May Company department store—at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles. The Saban Building will feature six floors, including exhibition spaces, a 288-seat theater, an education studio, special event spaces, conservation areas, and a café and store. A new spherical addition will connect to the Saban Building with glass bridges and will feature a state-of-the-art 1,000-seat theater and a rooftop terrace with sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills.
