Job Summary

Own the full marketing strategy and function for Photon, from product marketing and content to demand gen and events, while building the team and coordinating with Sales, Product, and Leadership.

  • Define positioning and messaging for Photon
  • Lead content marketing and demand generation to build trust with health care buyers
  • Shape the marketing organization, budget, and external partnerships

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Set marketing strategy and priorities for Photon, and make the case for them clearly to the executive team and the broader company
  • Own product marketing — positioning, messaging, and narrative that make it obvious why Photon is different, for both health systems and digital health buyers
  • Partner with Photon’s Creative Director to build Photon's brand — voice, visual identity, and reputation — into something that reflects the ambition of the company
  • Lead content marketing: case studies, thought leadership, blog, and other content that builds trust with a healthcare and health tech audience
  • Take ownership of the rest of the marketing function — demand gen, campaigns, events, partner marketing, PR — directing internal efforts, contractors, or agencies as needed
  • Propose and run experiments against a real budget, with a clear read on what's working and what isn't
  • Build the marketing function itself as Photon grows: decide what to hire, what to outsource, and what tools and processes the team actually needs
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Leadership to keep marketing pulling in the same direction as the rest of the business

Requirements

  • Experience in content marketing, brand, communications, or editorial roles, ideally at a high-growth B2B technology company
  • A track record leading a B2B marketing function, with demonstrated strength in product marketing, brand, and/or content marketing
  • Experience in health tech, digital health, or a comparably complex/regulated B2B space — you understand how healthcare buyers think and what earns their trust
  • Demonstrated ability to both set direction and inspire a team (even a small or extended one) and do the work yourself — write the doc, build the deck, ship the page
  • Strategic fluency across the full marketing toolkit — you can speak knowledgeably about channels you're not personally running and know when to bring in outside expertise
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you'll be one of the primary voices shaping how Photon is understood, internally and externally
  • Low ego, high ownership — driven by outcomes for the business, not by protecting a title or a playbook
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine appetite for experimentation — you'd rather test and learn than wait for certainty
  • Ability to work from our Brooklyn office at least three days per week

Preferred

  • Prior experience building or scaling a marketing function from a small base (deciding what to hire vs outsource vs tool)
  • Familiarity with SEO, website CMS tools, lifecycle email, and lightweight design or creative tools
  • Experience marketing specifically to both health systems and digital health/tech buyers
