Job Description

Front-End Developer, AI-Forward Digital Experiences

About the Role

Medical Knowledge Group is seeking a Front-End Developer to support the Sound Healthcare Communications team within the MKG network. This role sits at the intersection of technology, design, healthcare communications, and emerging AI-enabled workflows.

This is not a typical front-end development role. The ideal candidate is comfortable building modern digital experiences from the ground up, maintaining existing web properties, supporting healthcare and pharmaceutical brand work, and helping the team identify smarter, more efficient ways to work through AI. This person should bring strong technical fundamentals, curiosity, adaptability, and a high level of attention to detail in a highly regulated, editorially rigorous environment.

The Front-End Developer will report to the UX and Technology Lead and will collaborate closely with UX, creative, editorial, account, strategy, and development partners to deliver high-quality digital work across websites, emails, landing pages, banner ads, Veeva assets, and AI-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development and Maintenance

Develop new websites, landing pages, microsites, and digital experiences for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.

  • Convert approved Figma designs into responsive, accessible, production-ready HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript with a high degree of visual accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate closely with UX and design teams to ensure faithful implementation of design systems, interaction patterns, responsive layouts, animations, and component libraries defined in Figma.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance existing web properties across a range of platforms and technology stacks.
  • Build responsive, accessible, performant front-end experiences using modern development best practices.
  • Work with modern JavaScript frameworks, including React-based environments, while also supporting traditional front-end systems.
  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites, including custom themes, templates, components, and content updates.
  • Write clean, scalable, well-documented HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • Support styling across React component styling, traditional SCSS, and custom CSS architectures.
  • Troubleshoot front-end bugs, cross-browser issues, layout inconsistencies, CMS limitations, and production defects.

Email and Digital Production

  • Code responsive HTML emails using industry best practices.
  • Develop digital banner ads and rich media units according to platform specifications and brand requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Veeva-approved digital assets, including CLM presentations and interactive experiences, while adhering to platform requirements and pharmaceutical compliance standards.
  • Partner with creative and account teams to translate approved designs into polished digital assets.
  • Prepare and package files for QA, client review, deployment, and handoff.

AI-Forward Development and Innovation

  • Actively explore and apply AI tools to improve development workflows, documentation, prototyping, QA, content operations, and production efficiency.
  • Participate in AI initiatives across the team.
  • Use AI responsibly while maintaining quality control and client confidentiality.
  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve speed, consistency, accessibility, personalization, or operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging AI-assisted development tools and front-end technologies.

Healthcare, Pharma, and Editorial Collaboration.

  • Support digital work within pharmaceutical and healthcare communications environments.
  • Follow established editorial, medical, legal, regulatory, and client review processes.
  • Collaborate with editorial and account teams to ensure updates are accurate and implemented with precision.
  • Maintain strong documentation and careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of front-end development experience, preferably in an agency, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industry environment.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, responsive development, and converting Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive web experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience translating Figma designs into semantic, maintainable, production-ready front-end code while preserving design intent across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites.
  • Experience coding responsive HTML emails.
  • Experience developing banner ads, digital media assets, and marketing campaign materials is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Veeva CRM, Veeva CLM, or other Veeva digital engagement platforms is preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate development and Figma-to-code workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, Git, accessibility, SEO, QA, and cross-browser testing experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a versatile front-end developer who can move comfortably between modern frameworks, WordPress, custom SCSS, email coding, banner production, Veeva development, and AI-enabled workflows. They have extensive experience translating Figma designs into clean, responsive, production-ready front-end code with exceptional attention to visual detail and usability, collaborating closely with designers to faithfully implement design intent. They are detail-oriented, curious, collaborative, proactive, and understand the precision required in pharmaceutical communications.

What You'll Work On

  • Healthcare and pharmaceutical brand websites
  • WordPress properties and content-managed experiences
  • Microsites, landing pages, and campaign pages
  • Responsive HTML emails
  • Banner ads, Veeva CLM presentations, and digital media units
  • Internal tools, prototypes, and AI-supported development initiatives
  • Front-end QA, optimization, maintenance, and enhancements
