Job Summary

Own the company\u2019s market positioning and lead the content-driven marketing engine across product marketing, field events, and executive brand amplification.

  • Sharpen the core narrative with the CEO and translate it across Sales, CS, Product, and the customer experience.
  • Create and maintain assets and a consistent content cadence from case studies to executive thought leadership.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own positioning and product marketing. Partner closely with the CEO to sharpen our core narrative, including the "why Office Hours, why now" story, and translate it into a clear, consistent story across Sales, CS, Product, and the customer experience. Stay close to the market and competitive landscape, using what you know and learn to continuously sharpen how we position the company.
  • Develop core marketing and sales assets. Create and maintain the foundational materials that bring our positioning to life, including our master sales deck, ICP-specific one-pagers, pricing collateral, category overviews, and website content. Build them from the ground up and establish a cadence for keeping them sharp and current.
  • Build and run our content engine. Establish a consistent rhythm of high-quality content, from case studies and POV pieces to white papers, longer-form reports, and a company newsletter. Turn the ideas and insights already inside Office Hours, including expert conversations, proprietary data and frameworks, events, and more, into content that earns attention, builds credibility, and gives buyers something worth sharing internally.
  • Founder & CEO amplification. Develop the strategy for making our CEO and founder known for a distinct point of view on the future of knowledge work. Own our LinkedIn and social presence, ghostwrite and edit on a consistent cadence, and draw out their thinking so their reach compounds over time. Expand into earned and paid channels as the foundation takes shape.
  • Own field marketing and events. Lead our dinner series and other owned events end to end, from audience and guest strategy through invitations, execution, and follow-up. Initially, you'll be hands-on with every part of the motion. Over time, you'll codify what works and build the resources to scale it.
  • Build the marketing function. Start as a hands-on individual contributor and build the function around what works. As the company scales, determine where we need additional capabilities, hire and develop the team, and lead the marketers, creatives, agencies, and contractors who help us grow.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, including as an early marketer at an early-stage company. You've helped build a marketing function from the ground up and know how to operate without an established playbook, team, or infrastructure.
  • Deep product marketing expertise. You're fluent in positioning, messaging, segmentation, competitive strategy, and enablement, with a strong instinct for making complex offerings simple and compelling.
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment. You understand how enterprise buyers buy and know how to partner closely with Sales and CS to turn positioning into tools and content that help win, grow, and retain accounts.
  • Exceptional writing, at speed and at volume. You can move between buyer-facing messaging, long-form thought leadership, executive content, and social, and make each feel sharp, distinctive, and appropriate for the audience.
  • AI-forward execution. You use AI to increase the quality and volume of what you can produce, but never at the expense of your own thinking or your standard for the output. You know slop when you see it.
  • A builder's mindset. You can take raw inputs, form a point of view, and run with it, then build the thing yourself, whether it's a deck, one-pager, post, page, or campaign. You own the work from direction through delivery and hold a high bar for the output.
  • Comfort with speed and ambiguity. You'd rather ship a strong v1, learn, and iterate than wait for it to be perfect. Shifting priorities and an evolving playbook energize rather than slow you down.
  • Strong judgment and taste. You have a high bar for how a company presents itself, from the story to the words to the visual execution, and can maintain that bar across channels, mediums and activities.
  • The ability to create alignment. You can bring founders, Sales, CS, and Product, and eventually a team of your own, around a clear, consistent narrative.

Preferred

  • Bonus Experience
  • Experience shaping an executive or founder voice. You know how to draw out a leader's ideas, sharpen them into a distinct point of view, and turn that voice into content that builds credibility and reach.
  • Brand strategy and visual identity experience. You've helped shape how an early-stage company looks, feels, and shows up in the market, and know how to translate positioning into cohesive visuals.
  • Experience marketing directly to our ICP. You've built messaging, content, or go-to-market programs for institutional investors, consulting firms, AI labs, or similarly sophisticated enterprise audiences.
  • Experience with a two-sided marketplace or expert network. You understand the dynamics of marketing a business where you need to build affinity and engagement on both sides of the network.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Monthly wellness and fitness stipend
  • Paid time off policy, along with company holidays
  • Annual company off-sites (Tahoe, Mendocino, Mexico City, San Diego, Park City)
  • Parent-friendly policies, remote flexibility, and paid family leave
