A Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, forecasting business performance, and supporting strategic decision-making through insights on revenue, costs, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial analysts typically:

• Analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)

• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and dashboards

• Build financial models for forecasting and budgeting

• Track KPIs and business performance metrics

• Conduct variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast)

• Support investment decisions and cost optimization

• Assist in annual budgeting and long-term planning

• Evaluate market trends, competitors, and business risks

• Work with accounting, operations, and leadership teams

Required Skills

• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills

• Understanding of accounting principles

• Analytical and problem-solving ability

• Knowledge of valuation methods (DCF, comparables is a plus)

• Familiarity with ERP tools (SAP, Oracle, etc. is a plus)

• Data visualization tools (Power BI / Tableau preferred)

• Strong communication and reporting skills

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

• MBA / CFA is preferred for senior roles but not always required
